A fine specimen of a palomena prasina, apparently of the feared red handed tribe. They have been waging war against all the other insects living in european forests (or why do you think bees are nearly extinct by now? blaming the varroa destructor for that is a very common und dangerous mistake, they had nothing to do with it. when the bees died, they were at home, having tea with their families, celebrating Varroa New Year), and supposedly also attacked and killed several chihuahuas and two small children. on a side note, the Palomena also are said to have formed an alliance with the local tick society, scheming little bastards. seems like this one just came back from a kill.
